Thursday 7th April
Well my precious baby girl is almost 2 years old and i still think about her every single day all day! Just can't believe she's not here. Hurts more than anything in the world that i cant do things with my wee girl. I cant brush her hair, learn her to talk and count building blocks, watch her laugh or cry! The build up to Khianna's birthday is extremely painful for myself and her daddy. Would just like to thank everyone for lighting candles for Khianna and keeping her out of the dark! Thanks x
Its was on sunday 5th April i noticed my baby hadn't been moving and went to the hospital with my partner James to get it checked out as this was unusual. My baby was an active little thing. And i had a great pregnancy with no problems. I was 31 weeks, so only had 9 weeks left until my pride and joy arrived!
It was our worst nightmare, our baby didnt have a heartbeat. They tried a few times to hear the baby's heartbeat but couldn't find it, then they tried 2 different scans and it was confirmed our baby was dead. I knew something was wrong when they cudn't hear the heartbeat, i was already thinking of the worst possible scenario and it came true! Wish i hadn't thought like that. I can still see the doctors face who told us our baby had died! I have never experienced pain like that in my life, all i wanted was my baby! The nurse explained everything to James and myself that i would have to have a natural birth. I was told i had to take a tablet to help with the hormones, but i just wanted out of that hospital! I wanted my mum to make everything better! But she couldn't make it better, nobody could! We went home but nothing sank in, it just didnt feel real. We didnt want to believe it.
We had to go into the hospital the following day Monday 6th to get that tablet, then i came home and had to go in the following day Tuesday 7th to try and deliver my baby. I got a scan that day just so they could treble check the nightmare. I asked the doctor if she could tell me what sex my baby was, she told us she thought it was a girl, but she couldn't be 100%. James wanted a little girl more than anything in the world! Shame it had to be this way!
I was given 1/4 of a tablet every 4 hours to help loosen my cervix and enduce me into labour, but this tablet didnt work, so they then went to a diff tab and gave me 1/2 every 6 hours and that STILL didnt work. The days were going on and we had been to hell and back, but my baby just didnt want to come into the world. So they began again with the 1/4 tab every 4 hours, eventually my waters broke on thursday 9th april. When i started getting contractions they were rapid, started off every 9 mins, then went to every 2 mins. I was given gas & air to releave my pain, which was brilliant. Spaced me right out. I was sooking it that hard i bit the top bit off a few times lol! It was my sisters birthday on 9th april and my uncle on the 10th and neither of them wanted the baby to be born on their birthday, but i delivered a beautiful baby girl on 9th april at 23.55, she weight only 3lbs and we called her Khianna. 5 mins to spare, she was born on her Auntie Charlene's birthday, think she done it on purpose. Would have been so much nicer if we could celebrate their birthdays 2getha. When she was born i got a quick hold of her, then the midwife took her away and bathed her and brought her back dressed in a little outfit we had taken in with us. We got to keep Khianna in a little moses basket next to our bed in hospital. She was just sooooo perfect in every way. I was allowed home on saturday 11th April, that was the day i had to give my baby back! And it tore me up inside! I had to leave that hospital with no little princess! Empty arms!
While we were in hospital, Khianna had a few visitors. My mum Alice, James's mum Margaret, My sister Charlene and My cousin Cheryl. They all got her a teddy, i kept the teddy my mum got her! And i kiss that teddy EVERY night and tell her i love her and blow a kiss into the sky!
Khianna's funeral was on Saturday 18th April! It was sooo sad to see our baby girls tiny white coffin! Hurt sooo much! But we got through it. Our princess's headstone has just recently gone up, its a star! And its absolutely beautiful! We can't buy our daughter anything, so we will make sure her grave is perfect for our girl!
